Weekly on Mondays anyone interested in drawing croquis in Stavanger may join our group. We meet at Bekkefaret Bydelshus 19:00 and draw until 21:30.  Occationally studydrawing (single position).  Call me or Kåre Høghaug if you  like further information or is intersted in modelling.

Croquis is drawing with nude models in short acts. In our group the sittings vary from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. To draw with models and limited time trains the artist to understand the body, see, catch and simplify quicky and doubthless.

My experience is that croquis also trains the ability to include initial mistakes of the drawing to get a more life like look of the final piece. Croquis improves the ability to observe shadows and other details easily forgotten without such training.

Personally I have be drawing crouquis with changing models weekly for several years. This training has impoved my art within all the mediums I work. Even though our group always work with human models, drawing and painting has become more natural and much easier with this training regardless of type of object.
